Construction is beginning this month on Phase I of the Oso Bay Learning Center & Nature Preserve in Corpus Christi, Texas.  This phase includes just under a mile of hike and bike trails and a 250-ft long elevated boardwalk that extends 15 feet into the air, allowing for expansive views of Oso Bay and spectacular bird and habitat observation.  The trail will also provide a much-needed connection from a new neighborhood southwest of the site to an existing hike and bike trail north of the site.

With the first phase under construction, RVi is now working with our team of local biologists, engineers, and architects on the design for Phase II of the project.  This phase will include a Learning Center and lab pond, as well as a Children’s Discovery Garden featuring a birdhouse-themed playscape with an interactive “scavenger hunt” aimed at educating kids about various animal habitats. Other education will focus on wetland stormwater filtration and how wind influences the land, people, and animals.
