Painted Desert Regional Food Hub
Bringing Agritourism to the "Food Desert"
Capitalizing on the idea of agritourism, by providing a bridge between farmers and consumers, the Painted Desert Regional Food Hub will provide the community and visitors the chance to experience life in the country, learn where their food comes from, and how it is processed. The Hub will give regional farmers the opportunity to market their produce within a 300 mile radius, providing significant economic impact for the farmers and stimulating rural economic development. The Painted Desert Regional Food Hub will also offer unique experiences for customers ranging from farm stays to cooking classes, water distribution demonstrations, and an open air sales marketplace. Located in Coconino County, approximately 20 miles from Flagstaff and within two miles of the Navajo Nation, the Painted Desert Regional Food Hub will bring destinational appeal beyond just the sale of food products.
