Mark Smith
Principal

Mark Smith is a Principal and practicing Landscape Architect with RVi’s home office in Austin. Mark has been with the firm for over 6 years where his responsibilities include concept development, firmwide design oversight, site planning and master planning, hardscape and landscape design, strategic marketing, and firm operations. He currently maintains professional licensure to practice Landscape Architecture in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Florida, is CLARB (Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards) certified, and is a Certified Arborist. He has considerable project experience in all regions of the U.S. and has extensive design expertise with a diverse range of design and planning projects including retail, office, hotel, community planning, urban design, parks, zoological gardens, transportation, and academics. A life-long resident of the Gulf Coast region of the US, Mark has lived in Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia and understands the subtle nuances of southern living and design. Currently a resident of Austin, Texas, Mark graduated from Louisiana State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree. Since graduation, he has worked with design offices in New Orleans, Atlanta, and Austin and has practiced in over 30 states and internationally in Canada and the Caribbean.
