July marked the completion of Blanco Vista’s Phase II streetscape installation. Highlights in Phase II include streetscape for the main thoroughfare, entry monumentation, and community and interpretive signage accenting a 400 year old Live Oak. At just over 700 acres, the Carma community, located in San Marcos, Texas, focuses on community identity, custom amenities, accessibility, and affordability. RVi’s role in the project includes landscape architecture, community theming and graphics, and design of the resort-style recreation center and mile-long linear park leading from the future commercial area to the Blanco River.
Graphic Designer Mike Barta recently returned from his second month-long adventure across Europe. With backpacks, Eurail passes and absolutely no plan in hand, Mike and two friends traversed 9 countries, from the U.K. to Turkey. "We never plan trips because it's more exciting on a whim. Everything is much more fun when there are no expectations or schedules to keep." As for a favorite city this trip, it's Barcelona, without a doubt. "The people are relaxed - nobody is in a hurry in that city. The weather is amazing, the nightlife is a blast - the whole city is just beautiful." As for travel advice? "Greece can be tricky. Make sure you know what’s going on, or you may end up watching an incredible Greek sunset on your way to the wrong island.” But then again, that's the adventure of not having a plan! |
