Blazing (reblazing) a beloved Austin Trail
Last month RVi's Vision Plan for the Trail at Lady Bird Lake received Austin City Council adoption. A one-year labor of love, the Vision Plan was a gift to The Trail Foundation in honor of RVi's 25th Anniversary. In a January 31st editorial, Austin American-Statesman editorial writer Bruce Hight highlighted the cooperative effort of The Trail Foundation and RVi. "In a growing city, the hike-and-bike trail on Lady Bird Lake is that rare feature that is both beautiful and useful. The Council, the Foundation and RVi all are doing a service to the city in planning and pushing for its improvement." Click below to read the complete editorial. Read more

Project Spotlight - SEDL Marks Time
To celebrate its 45-year legacy in education, Southwest Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL) sought the design skills of RVi's environmental graphics team to create a commemorative timeline that would inform visitors of SEDL's decades of milestones.

Divided into five panels, each outlining the accomplishments of one of the five decades of development, the timeline includes a display of technology advancement - from vinyl recordings and reel-to-reel film, to VCR cassettes and current digital storage on DVD. Annual reports from the five decades are also accessible to visitors.

RVi Planner on the Move
The start of 2009 has marked big changes for RVi's Houston office. In addition to a new address (19 Briar Hollow Lane, Suite 145, Houston, Texas 77027) and a new telephone number (713.621.8025), RVi Houston also welcomes two fresh faces. Emily Youngblood has joined the administrative team and planner Nate Qualls (pictured left) has moved from the Austin office to support Houston's planning efforts. When asked about the move, Nate told us, "I'm very excited about the opportunities that RVi Houston, as well as the City of Houston, have to offer me. Setting up shop at a new office in a new city is always a little hectic, but I look forward to the personal and professional growth this move affords." Welcome to Houston, Nate and Emily!
