Healing Garden Breaks Ground
Scott and White Healthcare - Round Rock recently broke ground on a new Healing Garden. The 18,000 square foot enclosed garden, designed by RVi, includes several water features, children's reading and play enclave, and quiet meditative areas. A diverse family of plant materials with interesting texture, color, and seasonal display has been selected for the garden to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that will draw visitors in. During the groundbreaking ceremony, Dr. Dudley Baker, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Round Rock, said, "The Healing Garden will bring the beauty and peaceful sounds of nature into the hospital environment, as well as provide a sanctuary for meditation and rest. The therapeutic setting will hopefully benefit everyone, including patients, families, and staff." The garden is being funded by donations and is scheduled to open in late 2009.
