This month, RVi kicks off conceptual design of the Southeast Greenway at Mueller, Austin. As Parks and Open Space planner for Mueller, RVi completed the Northwest Greenway (photo left) in 2007, and is set to open the Southwest Greenway and Mueller Lake Park in 2008. Situated just south of the future elementary school and recreation center, the Southeast Greenway will focus on active recreation for youth and adults. With a 30-acre canvas, possible features include multi-purpose fields, a children's play area integrating natural features, a trail-head and a pond incorporating wetland characteristics. As on the Southwest Greenway, RVi will work with the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center to create a sustainable, educational and entertaining park experience for Mueller's future residents.
Six RVi'ers are polishing up their shoes and dusting off their bowling balls for SMPS's Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids' Sake 2008 on February 23rd. The RVi "Smashing Toes" lineup includes team members Paul Smith, Mark Smith, Shawn Massock, Summer Lawton, Mike Barta and Melissa Goss-Jentz. We've pledged to raise $1,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas, and you can help the "Smashing Toes" reach their goal by donating at our team page on the Bowl for Kids Sake website or by asking your RVi contact for a donation form. RVi wishes all the teams good luck, because the Smashing Toes have plenty of strikes to spare! |
