March 29th marked an important milestone, the grand opening of the Yarrington Bridge, for RVi client Carma, Texas and the City of San Marcos, Texas. The bridge provides direct access to and from I-35 to the RVi-designed community, Blanco Vista. Only the second railroad bridge crossing in San Marcos, the bridge brings better access and future growth to the new community. The day's celebrations included a marching mariachi band, speeches from city and county officials, a ribbon cutting ceremony and local barbeque specialities. RVi congratulates Carma, Texas on building a bridge to community.
On March 30th, four RVi'ers laced up their running shoes and headed out into a rainy Austin morning for the 31st Annual Statesman Capitol 10K. This year's race benefited the University Medical Center at Brackenridge in Austin. Despite rain and slick conditions, RVi's runners all passed the finish line tired but healthy. Leading the pack was graphic designer Mike Barta, followed by designer Rebekah Johnson; President Bob Richardson came in third, and project manager Summer Lawton (pictured right center) brought up the rear. Congratulations, runners - may next year's race bring sunshine and more smiles! |
