We are pleased to announce that Barbara Austin has joined the board of the Austin Parks Foundation (APF). As Vice President and Director of Park Design at RVi, Barbara has focused her career on the development of fun and engaging parks for people of all ages.
APF’s mission is to partner with the community to enhance people’s lives by making Austin’s public parks, trails, and green spaces better through volunteerism, innovative programming, advocacy, and financial support. APF has several overarching goals that they are working to achieve over the next 5 years. One of those goals is to improve the national ranking of Austin’s park system by 10%, from #46 to #36.
“Austin currently ranks 46th out of 100 in the Trust for Public Land’s ParkScore index. I am excited to have this opportunity to work alongside APF to help improve the quality of Austin’s park system,” Barbara said.
RVi has long been a supporter of the Austin Parks Foundation and frequently participates in their signature It’s My Park Day volunteer event. This year’s It’s My Park Day Fall event is taking place this coming weekend, and the RVi team will be hard at work adding new topsoil, native plants, and mulch at the Austin Nature & Science Center.
