Last week kicked off the first phase groundbreaking for Lariat, a new 688-acre master planned community located in Liberty Hill, Texas from Randolph Texas Development. Designed around the intent of getting kids and families outside, Lariat will offer over 7 miles of trails and bring about 1,600 new homes to Liberty Hill when all is said and done, with phase one concentrating on about 1,063 lots. Three Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs) were created specifically for the project, bringing much needed water, sewage, drainage, and other utility-related services to the community. Developers are currently in the midst of civil construction, putting the necessary infrastructure in place including a brand-new wastewater treatment facility developed exclusively for the community.

The land was once a ranch with naturally sloping hills that form beautiful landscapes and create breathtaking views. Lariat creates a place for residents to come, relax, get outdoors, and be with your friends, family, and community. The neighborhood will offer a wide range of active and passive activities from a central amenity center featuring a robust, kid-centric playscape and splash pad, to laid-back reflective areas and a pond expansion featuring fishing docks, to a 7+ mile trail system that winds through the community, pocket parks, and finally to a greenway that connects residents to all the natural landscape has to offer. Lariat’s rustic ranch style design gives both kids and adults a great space to have fun and be together.

Although the developer has owned the land since 2015, Covid-19 has added a bit of urgency to the project. Grant Rollo, Vice President of Randolph Texas Development, said they anticipate a grand opening in late 2022 for the first phase of development.
