Creek Bend Bridge

Connecting a Community with Context Sensitive Design

When the City of Round Rock decided to build a new vehicular bridge over Brushy Creek and a new regional arterial, they directed the design and engineering team to create a structure that was unique yet appropriate to its natural setting.   Design opportunities included references to Round Rock’s historic past and a beautiful, undisturbed creek and greenway corridor. The boulevard was landscaped with native plant materials for sustainability and to ensure that the roadway blends well with its natural surroundings.  Trail connections to the regional trail below the bridge and a new gateway park were provided on the north end of the bridge.
