crafting an elevated experience for a 55+ age demographic. Nestled in the natural beauty of the Teas Hill Country, RVi worked to blend regional charm with resort-style amenities in a dynamic, wellness-centric environment.

OUTCOMES

Nestled on 1,139 acres in San Marcos, along the edge of the rolling Texas Hill Country, Kissing Tree offers no shortage of opportunities for recreation, relaxation, and active living. RVi delivered planning and landscape architecture services to transform the site into an invigorating community that incorporates the natural landscape with the whimsical local lore of Sam Houston’s Kissing Tree into a living brand.

The region’s rolling topography and rich limestone deposits were central to RVi’s landscape architecture design. The Balcones Fault Line, which runs alongside the site and divides the Coastal Plains from Hill Country, inspired the materials selection and design aesthetics. Signage, wayfinding, and a unique entry sequence reinforce a curated sense of place. Residents and visitors arrive through a signature tunnel bridge that showcases variegated local limestone patterns.

Kissing Tree’s expansive amenities emphasize active living, creativity, and connection with a touch of foodie culture. Residents enjoy an indoor/outdoor pool, fitness center, 18-hole golf and putting courses, biergarten and community kitchen, amphitheater, dog park, and a range of social spaces and activities, including bocce ball, tennis and pickleball courts, horseshoe pits, billiards, and fire pits.
