Miakka Golf Club

Creating a golf experience unlike any other, in a state known for its world-class golfing, was a tall order. To stand out in the Sunshine State, RVi teed up an immersive experience that extended beyond the course to establish Miakka Golf Club as a premier private golf destination.

GOALS

RVi sought inspiration in the site’s natural character, enmeshed with the artistry of the game itself, to apply exceptionally creative planning and landscape architecture services. Swinging for a world-class destination with professional-caliber play and resort-style amenities, we collaborated with PGA Tour Player Paul Azinger and world-renowned Fry/Straka Global Golf Design team to bring the vision to life.

OUTCOMES

Weaving through rolling meadows, mature trees, and two miles of preserved Myakka River frontage, Miakka Golf Club’s 18-hole course offers 7,700 yards of captivating play, crafted from the site’s natural landscape and reminiscent of the famed courses of the Australian Sandbelt. Beneath the surface, underdrain systems maintain firm, fast conditions year-round, supported by an adjacent sod farm growing Stadium and Lazer Zoysia grass.

Complementing the main course is a 12-hole par-3 course, a 7-acre short game facility, a lighted putting course, and a state-of-the-art performance and fitness center for members of all experience levels to refine their game. Back at the scenic clubhouse and patio, members can congregate in the dining room and bar, with cracker-style cabins nearby for overnight stays. The Still, a rustic gathering space overlooking a 38-acre pond, offers a fire pit, bocce, fishing, and golf simulators. The result is world-class destination shaped by a member-focused culture that captures Miakka’s spirit of camaraderie, connection, and wellness through golf.
