Sky Crossing

Pairing natural design elements with impressive amenities, RVi designed Sky Crossing to reflect the essence of a naturally beautiful, active-living community that offers a full spectrum of recreational opportunities.

GOALS

The design for Sky Crossing sought to transform its Sonoran Desert setting into a residential sanctuary through comprehensive planning and landscape architecture services that we provided to Taylor Morrison & Pulte Homes. With visions of a distinct community identity utilizing the unique elements of both water and the sky, we aimed to develop a space that was functional, aesthetic, and sustainable.

OUTCOMES

Our work on the project ranged from character and theming development to amenity programming, hardscape and landscape design, and master planning for open space and play areas. By understanding how a site can seamlessly flow from one space to the next, our team provided a cohesive design that guides movement and encourages interaction. The project included a coordinated plan connecting open spaces throughout the community, bringing a sense of continuity and cohesiveness to the surrounding setting.

Featuring a community center, fitness center, resort style pools, a splash pad, trails, adventure playgrounds, and more, Sky Crossing’s layout was thoughtfully crafted to link spaces in a cohesive and functional way. In addition to amenities, Sky Crossing extends the natural landscape with community gardens, thoughtfully designed gated entries, and native revegetation. The final design emphasized the importance of restoring ecological balance and maintaining the natural elements found throughout the desert region while promoting an active lifestyle for residents.
