Texas A&M University – Commerce Master Plan
A Dynamic Master Plan for Future Campus Development
Serving as the educational hub of northeast Texas and located along the Interstate 30 corridor, TAMU Commerce occupies a prominent position for growth and expansion. With state-of-the-art distance learning centers at the Metroplex Center, the University Center at Dallas, and Navarro College Partnership, the TAMU campus in Commerce is emerging both as a traditional and as a cutting-edge institution for academic excellence. As its strong commuter based student populations are being re-directed toward these program centers near Dallas, TAMU System aimed to prepare a master plan to ensure the Commerce campus maintains it’s strong position in the northeast and East Texas regions.
Our team was charged with data gathering, analysis, and master planning for campus land use, open space and recreation facilities, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, as well as landscape and campus design. Dynamic master plan schematics and conceptual design studies, along with concepts for future needs and alternatives for west campus development, were prepared and presented to the campus community and local municipalities. Detailed narratives were prepared for the final master plan document.
