The Pink Shell Resort

A family resort restoration and expansion is leading reinvestment in a coastal community devastated by Hurricane Ian. Through thoughtful design, inclusive amenities, and a renewed focus on connection, the Pink Shell Resort is restoring local pride, rebuilding tourism, and creating a vibrant destination for families and residents alike.

GOALS

Working closely with the Boykin Property Management in Fort Myers Beach, RVi aimed to help restore a hurricane-damaged resort destination with thoughtful and timely design solutions that would reopen Fort Myers Beach and the Pink Shell Resort to business and tourism. We were driven to help revive tourism, strengthen the local economy, enhance accessibility, and provide a welcoming and hospitable resort environment. The design prioritizes durability, guest experience, and long-term environmental stewardship for a thriving coastal destination.

OUTCOMES

The revitalized family resort has delivered meaningful, measurable outcomes for the hurricane-impacted Fort Myers Beach community. By reestablishing the area as a welcoming destination for families, the project has helped restore tourism activity, drawing visitors back to local beaches, shops, and restaurants. This has supported small businesses, created new jobs, and strengthened the long-term financial stability of the region.

The resort’s resilient design features, such as elevated structures, durable materials, and improved storm-ready infrastructure, have increased the community’s ability to withstand future weather events. These enhancements not only protect the resort itself but also model best practices for sustainable coastal development.

Public spaces integrated throughout the site have reconnected residents with the waterfront, fostering an inclusive environment where locals and guests can gather, relax, and rebuild a sense of place.
