W. L. Gore Corporate Campus

The W.L. Gore corporate campus is located in northern Phoenix along the I-17 freeway. The global manufacturing company is focused on materials science, and is perhaps best known for its breathable, waterproof Gore-Tex fabrics.

The campus is designed as a model for progressive arid-region campus design and responsible development within the North Gateway’s Village Core. It features a native Sonoran Desert plant palette and xeriscape demonstration areas, and is designed to use reclaimed water from the cooling towers in the central plant for irrigation. The environmentally sensitive site plan was designed to accommodate specific programming elements that are instrumental to the W.L. Gore corporate culture, including a 100+ person amphitheater and custom tensile shade structure that utilizes fabric engineered by the company. The design helps the client achieve their goals of providing an environment that encourages team building, creativity, and employee satisfaction.

The W.L. Gore campus is the recipient of Valley Forward’s Crescordia Award for design excellence and the Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects Arizona Chapter.
