Designing outdoor breakout terraces and native landscapes to support Disney’s Dolphin meeting growth.
The Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve are known for expansive meeting facilities, outstanding service, and an unmatched position in the heart of the Walt Disney World® Resort. RVi (formerly Hitchcock Design Group) led the site design for a 2.8-acre expansion of the newest Exhibit Hall at the Dolphin Hotel.
With more than 17 ft. of grade change surrounding the building, the team developed a layered hardscape and landscape strategy that honors the iconic Michael Graves architecture. A network of stairs, ramps, and retaining walls forms outdoor breakout terraces at multiple entries. Native Central Florida plantings provide shade, seasonal color, and low-maintenance landscapes for year-round guest use.
