Blackrock embraces the dramatic foothills of Sloan Canyon, creating a contemporary community that draws its identity from the desert’s raw beauty. RVi’s design uses natural materials, native vegetation, and strong architectural lines to seamlessly connect residents to the surrounding landscape.

GOALS

RVi sought to craft a community that honors the character of the Mojave Desert while delivering a refined, contemporary living environment. Through landscape architecture, theming, and grading, the team aimed to integrate the built environment with its surroundings using native vegetation, natural earth tones, and forms inspired by the desert landscape. The goal was to create a community that feels grounded, cohesive, and unmistakably connected to its setting.

OUTCOMES

Blackrock stands as a community defined by its seamless connection to the desert terrain. RVi’s design approach amplified the natural qualities of the Sloan Canyon foothills, creating an environment where residents feel immersed in the surrounding landscape from the moment they arrive. Refined architectural lines, sculptural grading, and regionally inspired materials establish a sense of place that is both contemporary and deeply rooted in the Mojave Desert.

Native plant palettes and intentional open-space integration help preserve the character of the site while creating a visually cohesive experience throughout the community. The result is a neighborhood where the design does more than complement the desert—it celebrates it. Blackrock fosters a lifestyle rooted in desert living, offering residents a serene, harmonious environment that showcases the beauty of the foothills.
